No contests in June primary

All three Valley towns will have races in November for seats on their respective governing bodies.
Incumbent Hopewell Township Committeeman David Dafilou, a Democrat. will be on the June 2 state primary ballot.
Mr. Dafilou, of Baker Way, was appointed to the committee on March 23 to finish the unexpired term of David Sandahl, who resigned to serve on a state task force.
On the Republican side of the June 2 township primary ballot will be Republican Eileen McGinnis, of Harbourton-Woodsville Road. Ms. McGinnis was an unsuccessful candidate in November 2008.
Mr. Dafilou’s seat is only one on the five-member committee that will be contested in the November general election.
A similar electoral situation prevails in Pennington and Hopewell Borough. Two Borough Council seats will be contested in each town in November. Both have six council seats and a mayor. Council members serve three-year terms. Mayors serve four-year terms.
In Pennington, Democratic incumbents Eileen Heinzel, of Hale Street, and Joseph Lawver, of Burd Street, will be on the ballot. Also meeting the 4 p.m. Monday filing deadline were Republicans Lance Lewis, of South Main Street, and Eva Kaplan, of Railroad Place.
In Hopewell Borough, incumbent Republicans David Knights, of West Broad Street, and Mark Samse, also of West Broad Street, filed for the primary as did Democratic challengers Debra Horowitz, of Model Avenue, and Stanley Vitello, of Columbia Avenue. Mr. Vitello is a former member of the council.
