Board member seeks ‘final favor’

Bill Borkowski, of Allentown
May I ask one final favor, for the 1,000-plus hours of school board meetings, workshops and construction meetings that I attended and participated in for all taxpayers over the past three years: Will you support this year’s school budget?
Individual school board members like Howard Kreiger and I, who have both worked as the new middle school liaisons, have demanded tough fiscal accountability to see that this new school remains under budget and on schedule to open September 2010.
I am not running for re-election this year but I ask that you vote to support this year’s school budget that holds the line on new spending, decreases health-care costs under a new teacher’s contract, and puts more books in the classroom. My fellow school board members and I have put forward the least costly school budget for what is controlled locally.
Please help by showing your positive support as you have always provided in the past. And thank you for allowing me to have served for you on the UFRSD school board.
