   The Easter Egg Hunt that was to take place last Saturday will take place this Saturday, April 18, at H. Kenneth Wilkie Park, 10 a.m. Bring the kids up to age 10.

   There is a collection of representatives from Florence Township Emergency Services Public Safety Awareness Committee, with representatives from police, fire, and EMS whose goal is to provide educational programs to the community while working together to encourage awareness. They are having a Bike Rodeo on the morning of May 9 in the rear lot of the Municipal Building. This will involve helmet giveaways, bike registration, food, drink, an obstacle course, and bike inspection/tune-ups. We will have the time next week.

   The Florence Township Republican Club is holding its annual Spring Dinner tomorrow night, April 17, from 7 to 11 p.m. at Bung’s Bar and Grill. Just reminding you as the deadline was April 11.

   Florence U.M. Church, Second and Broad streets will hold a car wash Saturday, April 18. No charge, just a free will offering. There will be light refreshments for sale.

   Florence High School Tennis Team is having a car wash on Sunday, April 19, at the Roebling Bank, (corner of Delaware and Route 130) from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.) Please come out and support the team.

   The Florence Garden Club will hold their April meeting on Monday, April 20, at 7 p.m. at the Alterra/Sterling House on Broad Street, Florence. All members and anyone interested in joining are invited to attend.

   The Florence Township Education Association is hosting an Ice Cream Social for all students in grades K-3, at the Roebling Elementary School (in the hallway outside the library) on Tuesday, April 21, from 4-8 p.m. Students are welcome to come out and vote for their favorite ice cream flavor while enjoying a free ice cream sundae!

   Florence Township Chapter of Deborah will have its monthly meeting at the Sterling House on Broad St. on April 23 at 7:30 p.m. They are having their fund Drive. There will be a Cake sale at Shop n Bag in Roebling from 9 a.m. to noon. If you are interested in donating cake or helping out in any way, please call Carol at 499-1927.

   The Florence Township Volunteer Fire Co. 1 will hold a hoagie and meatball sandwich sale on May 1 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday, May 2 from 11 a.m. until sell-out. Hoagies available are Italian, American, and tuna. The price is $6 for either sandwich, which includes a beverage and a bag of chips. Advance orders are welcome by calling 609-499-6003 or fax 609-499-6004. Delivery is available locally. The sale will be held at the fire house, 401 Firehouse Lane.

   Mother’s Day Tea to be held at St. Stephen’s Church, Second and Spring streets, Florence, Call Bonnie Tete at 609-744-9486 for reservations by April 23. Tickets will not be sold at the door. Tickets are $30 per person.

   Mother/Daughter Dinner will be held at Florence U.M. Church, Second and Broad streets, in Florence on May 14 at 6 p.m. Entertainment will be provided. Call 499-1731 or 499-3807 or tickets. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children.

   This is National Library Week. You still have today, Friday and Saturday to drop in at the Florence Township Library and see what they have to offer. You’re sure to find something for the whole family.

   The Florence Township Football Association is holding its first Golf Outing at Hanover Golf Course on Saturday, May 23. Cost is $120 per golfer and includes the driving range, green fees and cart. Beverages on the course, an after party at the Roebling VFW, games and prizes. Any questions can be directed to Joe Brunner at 609-784-2727.
