LAWRENCE: Police blotter for week of April 13

Charles Land, 18, of Farm Road, Ewing Township, and Gerald Gafgen II, 18, of Newtown, Pa., were charged with shoplifting clothing worth $103 from Macy’s at the Quaker Bridge Mall at 3:09 p.m. April 8, police said. They were issued a summons and released.
    A White Pine Circle resident reported the theft of her 2001 Daewoo sedan, valued at $2,000, from the parking lot in front of her residence between 7 p.m. April 6 and 11:13 a.m. April 7, police said.
    A Green Avenue resident reported the theft of his older model Garmen GPS unit, worth $20, and an assortment of prescription medications valued at $510, from his 2007 Volkswagen Jetta that was parked at his home between 10 p.m. April 3 and 10 a.m. April 4, police said. He left the windows open on the car.
    John E. Garner, 57, of Eagles Chase Drive, was charged with driving under the influence and assault with an automobile after his 2006 Dodge Durango car struck a Lawrence police patrol car that was stopped on the side of Brunswick Pike at midnight April 5, police said.
    The police officer, who suffered a bruised knee in the incident, had stopped another driver and was completing his investigation when his patrol car was sideswiped by the sport utility vehicle, according to reports. The police officer was sitting in the patrol car when it was struck.
    Mr. Garner, who was not injured, was issued summonses and released to a friend’s custody.
    Christine M. Archer, 18, and two 17-year-old girls, all of Robbinsville, were charged with shoplifting an assortment of clothing worth a combined $189.46, from Macy’s at the Quaker Bridge Mall at 9:03 p.m. April 3, police said.
    Ms. Archer was released on a summons and the two juveniles were released to their parents’ custody.
    Julio Ocasio, 18, of Johnson Avenue, and a 17-year-old township girl were charged with shoplifting $348 worth of jewelry from Lord & Taylor at the Quaker Bridge Mall at 8:54 p.m. April 2, police said.
    Mr. Ocasio was released on a summons and the juvenile was released to her father’s custody.
    Christina R. Mesday, 21, of Spruce Street, Hamilton, was charged with driving under the influence after she was stopped for speeding on Brunswick Pike at 1:56 a.m. April 1, police said. She was released to a friend’s custody.
