James Bart Kozack, 34, of Trenton, was charged April 5 with driving while intoxicated, having an open container of alcohol, failure to maintain lane, and speeding. Police said they stopped him on Route 539 at 12:17 a.m.
Police responded to a report of the theft of a 2000 Yamaha 223 CC dirt bike, valued at about $3,000, from Brindeltown Road at 6 p.m. Saturday. A resident told police someone stole his dirt bike, which he had last seen at about 10 p.m. the night before. The bike was described as blue and white, with heavy damage to the front fender.
Nicole M. Homeny, 18, of New Egypt, was charged April 2 with careless driving. Police said she struck a stopped vehicle at 3:23 p.m. on Route 528. Ms. Homeny told police she did not see the other vehicle stopped in traffic, and that when she noticed it she tried to stop but was unable to in time, according to a police report. Both vehicles sustained minor damage.
Kevin J. Rush, 47, of Freehold, was charged April 8 with careless driving. Police said he crossed the double yellow line at 2:30 p.m. when he tried to turn left from Route 528 onto Route 539. Another driver attempted to avoid Mr. Rush’s car but was unable to do so and struck it in the rear, police said. No injuries were reported.
