Ralph J. Tolomeo of Bordentown
To the editor:
Under the radar, but essential to the quality of life in Bordentown City is the Department of Public Works. For the last eight years, Commissioner John Wehrman has been responsible for the supervision and operation of this department and its myriad functions, including the city’s water department.
John Wehrman’s commitment to his responsibility is readily evident on a daily basis. Trash collection, sidewalk and water leak repairs, building maintenance, recycling and the overall cleanliness of the City provide ample evidence of his accomplishments. This commissioner makes himself available to all, responding to our concerns and inquiries 24 hours a day, seven days a week. He is a true hands-on person, dedicating hours of his personal time each week to delivering the highest standard of service to our community.
Commissioner Wehrman is very much concerned with operational costs and finding ways to develop economies and efficiencies in the Department of Public Works. This includes the management of its employees and the bidding of special projects and operating equipment.
Expertise and dedication of John Wehrman’s caliber is not easily replaced. In these tight financial times, we need to be especially thoughtful about our choice for commissioner. We can’t afford to lose someone with his experience, work ethic and problem solving talent. He has a proven track record. I urge everyone to support Commissioner John Wehrman in his bid for re-election. He truly is the best man for the job.
