The Burlington County Library Bordentown Branch Youth Services Department offers a variety of programs. Registration is necessary for all programs. A Burlington County library card is required. Please note that registration begins two weeks prior to the date of the program.
The address for the Bordentown Library is 18 East Union St., Bordentown. Registration can be done in person or by calling 609-298-0622. Library hours are Monday through Thursday 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., Friday and Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
For children
Kids Spring Advanced Knitting — Mondays, April 20, 27, May 4, 11 at 6 p.m. for kids 9 years and older. Join us for knitting classes. You must already know how to cast on, knit and purl. Bring a pair of size 8 knitting needles that are 10 inches long. Registration is for all four sessions.
Time For Twos — Farm Animals, Tuesday, April 21, or Wednesday, April 22, at 10:30 a.m. for children 24 to 35 months. Join us for farm animal stories, songs and a craft.
Early Literacy Program —Thursday, April 23, at 10:30 a.m. for babies birth to 24 months old. Join us for “Every Child Ready To Read @ your library” program. Learn pre-reading skills that you can do with your child starting at birth.
Toddler Time — Friday, April 24, at 10:30 a.m. for toddlers 16 to 23 months. Bring your toddlers and join other mothers and caregivers for stories, songs, music, finger plays and socialization activities.
Wii For Tweens — Saturday, April 25, at 10:30 a.m. for kids ages 8 to12 years old. We have Wii! Come and enjoy this popular interactive game system!
Infant Story Time —Friday, May 1, at 10:30 a.m. for babies birth to 11 months old. We welcome babies birth to 11 months old, with a caregiver, for stories, songs, movement, music and socialization activities.
Teddy Bear Time —Tuesday, May 5, at 10:30 a.m. or 2 p.m. or Wednesday, May 6 at 10:30 a.m. for children ages 3 to 6 years old. Teddy bear, teddy bear turn around. Join us for bear stories, songs and a fun craft.
Family Board Games —Thursday, May 7, at 4 p.m. for kids ages 3 years and older. Come with your favorite board game or play on of ours for an afternoon of brain power.
Time For Twos — Bear Hugs, Tuesday, May 12, or Wednesday, May 13, at 10:30 a.m. for children 24 to 35 months. Nothing feels better than a bear hug! Come and enjoy stories, songs, and a “beary” fun craft.
Chess Club — Wednesdays, May 13, and May 27, at 4:30 p.m. for kids 7 years and older. Come to the library for a “pick up” game of chess with your friends and neighbors. Bring your own chess set if you have one.
Baby Story Time — Friday, May 15, at 10:30 a.m. for babies 12 to 15 months. We welcome babies and their caregivers for stories, songs, music, finger plays and socialization activities.
After School Craft — Thursday, May 21, at 4 p.m. for kids ages 7 to12 years old.
Toddler Time — Friday, May 22, at 10:30 a.m. for toddlers 16 to 23 months. Bring your toddlers and join other mothers and caregivers for stories, songs, music, finger plays and socialization activities.

Join Jane Ryan as she shares her knowledge of gardening and how you can achieve a beautiful small garden. Gardening in Small Spaces will be presented on Tuesday, April 21, at 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Registration is required. You must have a library card to attend.
The Bordentown Library is offering a free Health Screening program on Thursday, April 23, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. A representative from the Burlington County Health Department will conduct diabetes screening, blood pressure check and provide health information. No registration is required. Walk-ins welcome.
Our Genealogy Workshop will be held on Tuesday, April 28, from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. If you are new to the world of genealogy and don’t know where to start, or if you are a seasoned researcher, join us for this informative evening. Each workshop will focus on a different genealogy topic.
Ladies Night Out —Spring Into Gardening, Wednesday, April 29, at 7 p.m. This is your time for fun! Storyteller Doreen Shepard will delight you with captivating stories and present a mini garden that you can make for your backyard or deck. Refreshments will be served.
Knit, Purl and Nosh — Wednesday, May 6, at 6:30 p.m. Bring your knitting project and share your ideas, ask questions and enjoy an evening of knitting and noshing. Open to all knitting levels. Registration is not necessary.
Join artist Janet Cebular at this two-part Make & Take Pottery workshop to make a pottery piece of your very own. In the first session you will learn how to shape clay into a vase or pitcher with beautiful flowers and leaves. The second session will teach you how to glaze and finish your piece of pottery. The sessions are free and all supplies will be provided. You will need to pick up the completed pieces at a date set by the instructor after the second night. The sessions will be held on Thursday, May 14 and Thursday, May 28, from 7 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. You must be able to attend both sessions. Registration is required. You must have a BCLS library card to register for this class. Registration begins April 16.
Tai Chi on the weekend! By popular demand, the Bordentown Library will be offering an Introduction to Tai Chi and Qigong on Saturday, May 16, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Tai chi is an ancient martial arts form that today is practiced widely for its health and relaxation benefits. Those in search of well being and a way to combat stress have made tai chi one of the most popular low-intensity workouts around the world. Qigong is an ancient Chinese system of postures, exercises, breathing techniques and meditation. Qigong is easy learn and enjoyable to do. Join us for this Saturday morning session to learn qigong and a simple tai chi form. Registration is required. You must have a library card to attend. Registration begins April 18.
Reduce stress and increase your vitality! Join Deepinder Ramsi for Yoga and Relaxation on Sunday, May 17, from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. This class is for both men and women. Please bring a mat or blanket and wear comfortable clothes. Registration is required. You must have a library card to attend. Registration begins April 19.

Master the Mouse will be held on Thursday, May 7, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Master the three basic skills of using a mouse. Learn how to point, click and scroll. Registration is required. You must have a library card to attend. Registration begins April 9.
Have you ever wondered what ‘this’ button means? If you have learned the basics of Microsoft Word, come and find out some more features of this word processor. Microsoft Word Part II is being offered on Tuesday, May 12, at 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Registration is required. You must have a library card to attend. Registration begins April 14.
No Fear! Learn the basics of computer hardware and software. Find out how to get around in a windows environment, work with toolbars, and manage files. PC Basics will be offered on Wednesday, May 13, at 10:30 a.m. to noon. Beginners Only! Mouse skill is required! Registration is required. You must have a library card to attend.
