HILLSBOROUGH: Police blotter

   Robert Fisher, 29, of Georgia, received a summons for solicitation after police responded to a report of someone selling magazine subscriptions on Strawberry Lane at 4:23 p.m. March 30.
   Mr. Fisher was processed and released after police found him on Riverview Terrace, and he admitted to trying to sell the subscriptions, police said.
   Maurice Chester, 21, of Raritan, was charged with driving while intoxicated after police found him sleeping in the driver’s seat of his car while it was parked on a rock path off Route 206 at 11:58 p.m. April 2.
   Mr. Chester was taken into custody after he failed several field sobriety tests. At police headquarters, he was found to have a blood alcohol level of 0.17 percent, police said.
   New Jersey law defines a BAC of 0.08 percent or higher as intoxicated.
   Mr. Chester was processed and released to a friend.
   Edwin Bennett, 48, of Woodmere Drive, was charged with driving while intoxicated, failure to maintain lane, failure to keep right and failure to yield to emergency vehicle after he was pulled over for driving erratically, crossing over the double yellow lines into oncoming traffic and into the shoulder of the road on Millstone River Road at 8:21 p.m. April 2.
   Mr. Bennett was taken into custody after he refused to perform field sobriety tests, but was seen swaying and staggering around. At police headquarters, he was found to have a blood alcohol level of 0.36 percent, police said.
   Mr. Bennett was transported to Somerset Medical Center because of his high level of intoxication, police said.
   Dean Shuck, 20, of Manville, was charged with possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia and CDS in a motor vehicle after police approached him while he was parked in the Hillsborough Promenade parking lot, on Route 206, at 5:18 p.m. March 31.
   Mr. Shuck was taken into custody after police found marijuana on the front passenger seat, as well as a bag of raw marijuana, a half-smoked joint and a package of rolling papers in the vehicle, police said.
   Mr. Shuck was processed and released with a court date of 3 p.m. April 24 at the municipal building.
