The combined choirs of Trinity Church Princeton, and Church of the Redeemer, Bryn Mawr, with Tom Whittemore conducting, sing George Frideric Handel’s Coronation Anthems (1727), composed for the coronation of King George II and Queen Caroline in Westminster Abbey, on Sunday, May 3, at 4:30 p.m., at Trinity Church, for the benefit of the Crisis Ministry of Princeton and Trenton. (That’s Maestro Handel, above, not His Majesty, whose style of dress would have been even more sumptuous.) Handel went right over the top for this great occasion, which was very important to his career, writing music of stunning magnificence. Tickets are $20 ($10 for students).
