Cranbury voters gave a $17.6 million budget the thumbs up Tuesday, 274 to 167.
The budget translates into a 1.6 percent increase in the tax levy and carries a school tax rate of 90.95 cents per $100 of assessed valuation. Under that rate, the owner of a home assessed at the township average of $636,540 will pay $5,789 in school taxes for the 2009-10 school year, an increase of about $349.
Voters also elected Lynne Schwarz, Austin Schraudenbach and newcomer Nicole Pormilli to three year seats on the school board. Ms. Schwarz received 369 votes, Ms. Pormilli 353 votes and Mr. Schraudenbach 340 votes.
