Resident grateful

Paul Ciarrocca of Bordentown City
To the editor:
I would just like to take this time to let the citizens of Bordentown know what a great Police Department we have. I know lately there has been a lot of criticism of our department due to the upcoming election. So I feel it necessary that everyone in our town know what happened at my house early in the morning at approximately 3 p.m.
I was sleeping like most people at this early morning hour when I was woken by a burglar breaking into my house. I called 911 and had a police officer at my house in under one minute. The second officer responded right after the first; they caught the burglary and had him in handcuffs in under three minutes, it was truly amazing! There is no telling what could have happened if the officers did not respond so fast, and not apprehend the burglary.
The people of Bordentown need to know that the police can not catch everyone that runs a stop sign, but when they are really needed and you dial 911 you better believe that not only are the police going to be there, but they are going to handle the situation like true professionals.
A special thanks to responding officers, Detective Sgt. Shaun E. Lafferty, and patrolman Kevin Guire.
