   The first Spirit of Chesterfield Festival meeting will be held 7 p.m., tonight at the Methodist Church in Crosswicks. They are planning a fun-filled day and would love to have some new faces. Stop by out and share your thoughts and ideas. The Spirit of Chesterfield Festival will be held in the Village of Crosswicks on Sept. 26.    The Chesterfield Hose Company Famous Chicken Barbecue will be held on Sunday, April 26, from noon until sold out. Tickets are $12 per person with both take out and eat in available.

   The Crosswicks Monthly Meeting invites the community to share an evening of wonderful music and friendship at the historic Crosswicks Meetinghouse at 7 p.m. Friday, May 1. Admission is free. Canned food donations are being accepted for the local food pantry. Relax and enjoy delicious desserts while you are entertained by musicians from Crosswicks Meeting in a coffeehouse type setting. Musicians for the evening include: John and Tom McMenamin and Rich Bockmann on guitar; Gian Torrano Jacobs on harp; Jack Caldwell on stand up bass; John Enz on cello; Scott DeGood on tenor saxophone; John Andrews on fiddle; and Alvin Figueroa on vocals.    The Chesterfield Township Board of Education Reorganization meeting will be held 7:30 p.m., Monday, May 4, in the Chesterfield Township Elementary School Media Center. Other matters that may come before the Board will also be addressed. The meeting may go into executive session and formal action may be taken.

   The Chesterfield Township Public Education Fund’s annual golf tournament, dinner and live auction to be held Thursday, May 7, at Mercer Oaks in Princeton Junction. Go for the golf, dinner or both, and stay for the auction. This is the Chesterfield Township Education Fund’s only fundraiser. To date, the CPEF has expended over $200,000 to purchase items for the classrooms as well as fund activities and programs for the students. Please plan to attend this great annual tradition.    The Chesterfield Hose Ladies Auxiliary, due to the rain on Saturday, April 11, held their annual Easter Egg hunt indoors at the Chesterfield Fire House. The grand prize winner was Kaneisha Raymond. In the 3-4 age group the winners were: Ryan Richelson, Nikhil Arayath, Ethan VanSciver, and Evan Richelson. In the 5-7 age group the winners were: Zachary Lear, Kaneisha Raymond, Stephin Smith, and Athira Arayath. In the 8-12 age group the winners were: Mitchell Hennessey, Holly Hennessey, Julia VanSciver, and Oliva Lear. They would like thank everyone who came out and hope to see you again next year, without the rain.

   The Kindergarten Registration for Chesterfield Township Elementary School is being held. If you are a resident of Chesterfield Township and have a child who will be 5 years of age on or before Sept. 30, 2009, please call the Chesterfield Township Elementary School to register for kindergarten. Please call Chesterfield Township Elementary School at 298-6900. Kindergarten Screenings are scheduled for May by appointment only. All registration forms will be filled out at that time.
