HILLSBOROUGH: HHS ensemble performs in prestigious festival

The Hillsborough High School Wind Ensemble was invited to participate in the Music for All National Concert Band Festival in Indianapolis in March, one of 15 bands in the country to be invited.
The festival is considered one of the most prestigious festivals in high school music, and the HHS Wind Ensemble is only the third band from New Jersey to achieve this honor.
In order to be considered for this festival, the Wind Ensemble submitted a recording of two music selections and details about the high school band program. Over the years, Hillsborough bands have earned an outstanding reputation, with ensembles receiving countless superior ratings at festivals across the state.
The Wind Ensemble has been chosen numerous times to perform at the NJ State Gala Concert. In addition, the ensemble was invited to perform in Avery Fischer Hall, Lincoln Center in 2005. The ensemble was also selected to perform for the 2006 College Band Directors National Association Eastern Convention.
The trip was paid for with funds raised by Wind Ensemble students over the course of the last year.
