Sheila Hudson, 58, of North Brunswick, was charged with careless driving and failure to stop or yield after first hitting a car on the corner of View Street and Boesel Avenue, driving through open fields and two yards before hitting an unoccupied, parked car and propelling it into a Lincoln Avenue residence 4:32 p.m. April 8, according to police.
Ms. Hudson was turning onto Boesel Avenue from View Street, when she struck a vehicle driven by Jeanine Solarek, 45, of Hillsborough, police said
After the initial accident, Ms. Hudson sped up the vehicle, directed it through several open fields, and realized she could not stop the car. The vehicle stopped after hitting a car parked in a Lincoln Avenue house driveway. The impact propelled the parked car into the residence, police said.
Police reported damages to two Lincoln Avenue residences including bushes, a chain link fence, and the residence porch, and a ladder, a bike, and bushes at another residence. Police did not have a damage estimate for either collision.
Ms. Hudson sustained cuts to her face as a result of the accidents, and was transported to Somerset Medical Center, police said.
