Vote on May 12

Jackie Reed of Bordentown City
To the editor:
The town is abuzz about the upcoming election for City Commission. Some of the chitchat includes the controversial “bullet vote.” If one of the candidates urges you to vote for him/her alone, he/she is not acting in the best interest of our community; but rather shooting for the position as mayor at any cost.
Our city government consists of three departments: Revenue & Finance, Public Safety and Affairs, and Public Works, Parks, and Property. One commissioner is assigned to be director of each of the departments. It is essential that three qualified and dedicated candidates be elected as each of these departments must run smoothly and efficiently and in concert with one another to keep our city vibrant.
I plan to attend the Candidate’s Night on April 30 to learn the views of all the candidates, and hope to make the most of my vote on May 12 by doing so.
Recently I attended a “meet and greet” with Heather Cheesman. She is an educated, informed and savvy young woman. I think Heather Cheesman can provide the progressive leadership we need.
Whatever your choice, please vote on May 12.
