The Hillsborough High School girls soccer team has scheduled HHS Comedy Night at The Stress Factory, 90 Church Street, in New Brunswick, 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. May 17.
The special show is open to all Hillsborough students aged 14-18 (8-12th graders only) and parents the show is rated PG13 to accommodate the under-aged audience. HHS Girls Soccer Booster Club parent and coach chaperones will be on the premises.
The featured performer will be Joe DeVito, who has performed on “The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson” (CBS), Comedy Central’s “Live at Gotham,” and as a semifinalist on the fifth season of NBC’s “Last Comic Standing.”
He is also a talking-head regular on FOX News Channel, Animal Planet, and CNN Headline News. In 2006, Mr. DeVito was featured in the “New Faces” program at the Just for Laughs Montreal Comedy Festival, where the Montreal Gazette rated his performance as “9.5 out of 10.” He is a regular at clubs across the USA, including Gotham Comedy Club, Stand Up NY, Catch a Rising Star and the Borgata in Atlantic City. He’s also written for MTV, Stuff and Maxim magazines, and was a creative consultant for the Oscar-nominated documentary “Super Size Me.”
Tickets are $35 and include a buffet dinner and two comics (tax, gratuity, water and soda included). The bar will be closed, due to minors on the premises. Tickets will be on sale Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, and on May 12,13 and 14. Seating is limited so be sure to purchase tickets early.
