John Rivers, 26, of Richmond Court, was charged with fourth-degree unlawful possession of a weapon and failing to maintain his vehicle’s lights after he was pulled over because his vehicle’s license plate was not working and his right taillight was very dim while driving on Route 206 at 7:56 p.m. April 16.
Mr. Rivers was taken into custody after police found a pair of brass knuckles under the passenger side front seat of the vehicle.
Mr. Rivers was processed and released on his own recognizance.
Kristen Picone, 22, and Phoebe Scully, 22, both of Somerville, were charged with shoplifting after they were found with stolen clothes in their purses as they left Kohl’s, on Route 206, at 3:17 p.m. April 16, police said.
Police reported that Ms. Picone and Ms. Scully were seen entering a dressing room with a number of clothes and coming out with fewer items than they had gone in with. A Kohl’s employee reported that no items were left behind in the dressing room.
The total value of the stolen clothes was $166, police said.
Ms. Picone and Ms. Scully were processed and released on their own recognizance.
Daniel Ayuso, 28, of Brookside Lane, was charged with possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana, and improper emerging from a driveway after police pulled him over for pulling out of a parking lot onto Route 206 without yielding to oncoming traffic at 11:10 p.m. April 16.
Mr. Ayuso was taken into custody after police found three Baggies of marijuana that he admitted to placing in his passenger’s purse, as well as a pack of cigarettes with five joints containing marijuana.
Mr. Ayuso admitted that all the marijuana belonged to him.
Mr. Ayuso was processed and released on his own recognizance. His court date is scheduled for 3 p.m. May 5 at the municipal building.
Leshaun Arrington, 42, of Daval Road, was charged with driving while intoxicated, failing to maintain lights, and failing to keep right, after she was pulled over for swerving across the centerline and braking sporadically on Amwell Road at 12:50 a.m. April 12.
Ms. Arrington was taken into custody after she failed several field sobriety tests. At police headquarters, she was found to have a blood alcohol level of 0.08 percent.
New Jersey law defines a BAC of 0.08 percent or higher as intoxicated.
Ms. Arrington was processed and released to the custody of a friend.
