Tricky Tray: The South Brunswick Lions Club will holds its sixth annual Tricky-Tray Auction at the South Brunswick High School Cafeteria. Doors will open at 6 p.m., drawings will begin at 8 p.m. All those attending must be 18 or older. Free light refreshments will be available. Advanced admission is $8 and will be available at Monmouth Mobile Par, Route 1 in Monmouth Junction. Price at the door is $10. African mission dinner: The sixth Annual African Dinner and African Arts Auction of St. Barnabas Episcopal church will be held at 5:30 p.m. Admission is $15 for adults, $10 for youth and $5 for children 12 and under. Food will be prepared by African members of the congregation. All proceeds will benefit St. Barnabas’ work to reduce alcoholism and the spread of HIV/AIDS in Kenya. Ham dinner: The Presbyterian Men’s Council of the Presbyterian Church of Jamesburg will sponsor a ham dinner, complete with salad, green beans almondine, baked potato, dessert and beverage. The cost is $10 for adults, $5 for children 10 and under. Children under 5 are free. Reservations are required. Call the church at 732-521-1711 for reservations. Pay at the door. Doo wop dance: American Legion Post 401, 148 Major Road, will host a Rock, Rhythm & Doo Wop Dance beginning at 7:30 p.m. Donation is $5 at the door and it is open to the public. For information call 732-329-9861.

Christian rock: Christian rock music will be featured at the 5:30 p.m. communion service at the St. Barnabas Episcopal Church, 142 Sand Hills Road. The Praise Band from Grace Community Chapel will be offering the music as part of St. Barnabas’ First Sunday afternoon worship services. The next Top Model: Ever watch a modeling show and think I could do that? Get your chance at the South Brunswick Public Library in April. Teens in grades eight through 12 can register beginning April 17. Registration is limited to the first 15 teens registered and ends May 1. The models will be asked to pose for an artistic shot, a close-up face shot, appear in a film short of a “commercial” for the Library, and do a runway show wearing something dressy and something sporty/casual.
Audience votes will determine the winner. There will be several categories to shine in and an overall winner. The preliminary round will be “models only” from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 6. The runway finale will be open to the public from 2 to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 9. Big top fun: The Zerbini Family Circus will perform May 16 and Sunday, May 17, at Crossroads Middle School South, Major Road and Kingston Lane. Sponsored by the South Brunswick Lions Club. There will be two shows each day, 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. Tickets are $11 at the door and $9 if bought ahead of time. Tickets are available at the Monmouth Mobile Home Park, Planet Pets and Pierre’s Deli.
