A great way to swing into spring!
What a night! It may have been at a new place with a new band, but it was the same, warm friendly exchange between two generations. Of course we are talking about this year’s Swing Into Spring, a dance for senior citizens hosted by Hopewell Valley teens and held on April 17.
We want to thank this year’s corporate sponsor, Janssen, Division of Ortho-McNeil-Janssen Pharmaceuticals, Inc. for hosting the event; especially Pat Watts for taking time to meet with us during the planning stages. Everyone appreciates the opportunity to learn more about the corporations in Hopewell Valley, and April 17 allowed us to do that with Janssen. The food was fabulous, the conversation entertaining and the friendships made were priceless.
We would also like to thank Stony Brook Assisted Living for sponsoring this year’s band, Barbone Street Jazz Band. Thanks also to our fellow student musicians in the chamber group and Con Brio. And we really appreciate the help and guidance we receive from our adult advisors: Abigail Waugh, Kim Bruno, and Heidi Kahme.
This was the third year for Hopewell Valley’s Swing into Spring. While we are the hosts of the event, we couldn’t do it without other students’ help, so thanks to our friends as well. We can’t wait for next year!
