Lackland Self Storage announced today that its CEO and President, Michael Lackland, will be the featured guest on The Growth Strategist, a nationally known Internet radio program hosted by Aldonna Ambler.
The show will be broadcast on May 26, 2009 at 11 am ET, 8 am PT on the VoiceAmerica Business Channel (www.business.voiceamerica.com). During the program, Mr. Lackland will be discussing The Impact the Recession has on Real Estate Valuations and the Self Storage Business.
The Growth Strategist airs every Tuesday at 11 a.m. ET and runs for one hour. It is interactive in that listeners can call or email questions to the host or guest. Because shows are also available on-demand online and for free, Internet radio is a fast-growing and convenient medium for busy executives to gain information and insight. The Growth Strategist is a peer-to-peer-to-peer program which rotates through various industries, geographic locations, and strategies, so one week a retailer in Singapore who has grown their business through franchising will be interviewed and the next show may feature a manufacturer from Kansas City that has grown through acquisitions. Each show starts with the equivalent of a mini teleseminar providing 4-5 success tips about the growth strategy-of-the-week.
My show speaks directly to CEOs of fast-growth midmarket companies ($20-200 million) about growth strategies, moving past plateaus, what to do next while Achieving Accelerated Growth With Sustained Profitability, says Ambler. I invite guests from diverse industries, backgrounds, geography and philosophies to share how, when and why they are where they are today and how many speed bumps they hit on their journey.

It all started when the Lackland Family was vacationing in California in the 1970s when Fred Lackland decided to look at a Los Angeles public storage facility. In an effort to enhance his reputation and offering as not only a homebuilder, a banker friend had mentioned the new phenomenon of self storage to him, and it sparked his interest. Upon returning home in New Jersey, the Lackland Family decided to build a small storage facility in Piscataway which was one of the first self storage facilities in New Jersey. The year was 1977, and Lackland Self Storage was born. Lackland soon became a pioneer in the industry, as one of the first to introduce computerization and enhanced security. Now in its second generation of family management, Lackland Self Storage is one of the largest operations of its kind in the state, with 23 locations in New Jersey and 2 in Pennsylvania.
Today, Michael Lackland is at the helm of the Lackland Family of Companies as President and CEO. Charged with Director of Quality Assurance is Bruce Lackland and Dad, Fred oversees new construction.
