American Woman Fitness Center, Route 9, Freehold Township, will host Girl Scout Troop 487 and Troop 947 on May 29 to earn their fitness badges. A certified group fitness instructor/personal trainer will take the Scouts through a series of squats, lunges, push-ups and sit-ups demonstrating proper form and then guiding the girls through the moves. The girls will learn the importance of warming up before exercising and cooling down and stretching after exercise. They will also participate in a variety of aerobic exercises as the instructor informs them of the importance of proper footwear, hydration and fueling the body.
A&P and Pathmark supermarkets in New Jersey, along with food stores in Connecticut, Pennsylvania, New York, Delaware and Maryland, is sponsoring a fund-raising campaign in 436 stores that began over the Memorial Day Weekend to support Operation Shoebox New Jersey
The “Help Us Help Them” in-store campaign began May 24 and will run through May 30. Shoppers are invited to donate $1 as they check out at the cashier.
Those who choose to donate receive a “Support Our Troops” postcard to sign. The cards are being displayed in each of the stores and at the conclusion of the campaign they will be collected by Operation Shoebox New Jersey volunteers and sent inside personal care packages to U.S. troops stationed overseas in Iraq and Afghanistan.
The money donated by shoppers at each of the 436 stores will help ensure the uninterrupted flow of care packages overseas.

Gabe Rosanio and Amy Beauchamp of TD Bank recently presented representatives from the Arthritis Foundation New Jersey Chapter with a $5,000 grant. The grant money will benefit the foundation’s school program, “Kids Get Arthritis Too.” Geared toward school-age children, the interactive program educates children about what the pain of arthritis feels like.

Main St. According to branch manager Amy Li, the new office will be used for the recruitment and training of new sales representatives as well as for team meetings where additional training and mentorship is provided. Sales representatives market Vector’s product, Cutco Cutlery, through in-home presentations and use the sales office as home base. As an independent contractor, Vector branch managers, most of whom are still in college and on summer break, individually own their Vector sales office. After beginning as a sales representative, Li worked her way up through the company, becoming an assistant manager before receiving her most recent promotion. Dr. James F. Cozzarelli, a board-certified orthopedic surgeon at Advanced Orthopedics and Sports Medicine Institutes (AOSMI), Freehold, was one of 667 new members inducted as a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons recently during ceremonies at the academy’s 2009 annual meeting in Las Vegas. Cozzarelli specializes in arthroscopy, total joint replacement, and fracture and trauma care. He has hospital privileges at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township; the Northern Monmouth Regional Surgicenter, Manalapan; and Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. The Goddard School, 50 Route 520, Marlboro, was the host to a Trike-A-Thon on April 28. The children participated in the Trike-A-Thon and raised $1,030 for St. Jude Children’s Hospital. Carol Varga, the school’s owner, said the event provided the teachers and the children with a fun time and a great learning experience.
