The forensics team at Ranney School, Tinton Falls, recently took home top honors at the Ranney-hosted junior forensics festival for fifth- and sixth-grade students from Ranney, St. Jerome School in West Long Branch and St. Veronica School in Howell. All students received certificates of participation.
Awards for local students included: Excellence in Forensics Arts (top honors) for fifth grade — Karl Brand, Holmdel, and Katrina Triolo, Colts Neck, dramatic pairs; and Matthew Kumar, Little Silver, humorous interpretation. Sixth grade: Hailey Maher, Colts Neck, dramatic interpretation, and Samantha Picard, Rumson, humorous interpretation.
Commended Performance for fifth grade: Katies Vates and Elizabeth Rennie, both Holmdel, dramatic pairs; Sophia Jackman, Freehold, dramatic interpretation. Sixth grade: Vahak Hovnanian, Red Bank, and Tej Seelamsetty, Little Silver, dramatic pairs; and Alexis Auletta, Tinton Falls, humorous interpretation.
Honorable mention for sixth grade: Sabrina Park and Jillian Villany, both Colts Neck, dramatic pairs; and Milan Genovese, Oceanport, and Alexandra Natsis, Little Silver, dramatic pairs.
