SHREWSBURY — Freeholder Amy Mallet was the guest speaker at the first formal meeting of the newly formed Shrewsbury Democratic Club held May 11 at the Eastern Branch of the Monmouth County Library on Route 35.
Mallet spoke about her experiences and work as a newly elected freeholder. She then introduced the Democratic candidates for Assembly, Michelle Roth and Joseph Amberg, who also spoke and answered questions.
According to a press release, the club has been formed for the purpose of offering an opportunity for political activity to all residents of Shrewsbury who believe in the fundamental principles of the Democratic Party. Membership in the club is open to all citizens of Shrewsbury who are 18 years of age or over.
