Ed Tolman of Flemington Elected President of Jewish Federation of Somerset, Hunterdon & Warren

Jewish Federation of Somerset, Hunterdon and Warren Welcomes New President Edward Tolman of Flemington
Bridgewater, New Jersey, June 4, 2009
 The Jewish Federation of Somerset, Hunterdon and Warren Counties welcomed their new President of the Board of Trustees, Edward L. Tolman during the Joint Annual meeting of the Jewish Federation and Jewish Community Center held on June 2, 2009.
Outgoing President Kal Barson was acknowledged and thanked for his service, outgoing Board members Stephen Offen and Jeffrey Brookner were honored and new Board member Lillian Swickle was welcomed. Executive Director, Diane Naar was honored for reaching her tenth year of service with the Federation.
Ed Tolman has been part of the Jewish community for many years and has served as Past President of Temple Beth El in Hillsborough. Ed, together with his wife, Anita are
actively involved in the Jewish community and served together as Co-Chairs of the Federation Super Sunday outreach event. Ed has been a Vice President and Synagogue Liaison with the Federation. Anita serves in a leadership role with the Jewish Federation Women’s Philanthropy Division and together they also volunteer for the Food Pantry in Flemington. They have one daughter and three grandsons.
Tolman presented his new ideas and objectives for his two year term as President. He plans on building a stronger Jewish community, getting more people involved and cementing great relationships within the tri-county area.
The Jewish Federation brings together agencies, organizations and people to fulfill their needs and touches the lives of the local community and the Jewish people in Israel and throughout the world. The Jewish Federation supports the Jewish Community Center, Jewish Family Service, the Speaker newspaper, Birthright Israel, Rutgers Hillel, the Raritan Valley Community College Holocaust and Genocide Program, Ohr Tikvah Jewish Healing Center, the Israel Association for Child Protection, the Jewish Agency for Israel, Yemin Orde Youth Villages, and many other programs locally and internationally. The Federation provides information and referral for a whole host of human needs, including relocation assistance, vocational issues, homelessness, nursing home placement, disability services, counseling and many others.
