Roebling School proudly presents our newest mural, “A New Jersey Forest Through the Seasons.” Please join us for an open house reception to celebrate its’ completion on Thursday, June 11, (tonight) 6 to 7 p.m. at the front entrance to the Roebling School. Light refreshments will be served. You will also have the opportunity to view other student work.
Shannon is doing a marathon to raise funds for Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. There will be a Beef and Beer with a Chinese Auction on Saturday, June 13, at Wesley’s Pub from 6 to 8 p.m. We have a lot of gift certificates for the auction and there will also be a band playing afterward. Francis W. Robbins American Legion Post 194 will have their fifth Annual Blues Concert and Pig Roast, Saturday, June 27, noon to 7 p.m. Advance sales: $25 (age 12-adult) $15 (age 5-11), under 5 free. Cost includes beer outside, pig and fixings, food, soda and water. Bring chairs and blankets.
Vacation Bible School starts June 22 to June 28, 9 a.m. to noon. If you would like to register your child, please call 499-3807. If you have called and heard nothing, please call again. Pre-school class is full, but we have room for kindergarten, first through sixth grades.

The Roebling Historical Society invites everyone to the 13th annual “Occasion in the Park” on Sunday, June 28 from 1 to 5 p.m., rain or shine, at Roebling Park, Riverside Ave., Roebling. Crafters, business and community groups, please call 499-2379 for more information.
The RHS needs help throughout the day. Please call RHS President ay 499-2379 to volunteer to set up, work few hours, bake, or help break down.
Florence Township Patriotic Celebration Day takes place on Saturday, July 11, celebrating our freedom and saluting the men and women serving in our Military and Naval Forces. Mayor’s Cup Softball Games will be held Friday, July 10 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Muchowski Softball Field on Broad St . in Florence. Participating teams will be Florence Township Fire Department and Florence Township employees.
Saturday, July 11, will be a 5K Walk, Jog, Run. 7:45 a.m. will be assembly and registration. Starting time will be at 8:45 a.m. at Sterling House, 901 Broad Street. Entry Fee is $15. Register by July 8 to be guaranteed a 5K T-shirt. Flag raising will be at 11 a.m. at the Roebling Circle. The parade will start at noon, Fifth and Olive streets. Grand Marshal will be Staff Sgt. Andy Robinson, USMC Retired, Iraqi War Veteran.
Concerts from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Water Works Field.
Fireworks start at 9:10 p.m. at the field. You may also visit the Roebling Museum special events from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on July 12. The Roebling Garden Club received donations for the Roebling Circle. Thank you to those who donated. Your generosity helps keep the Village of Roebling stocked with beautiful flowers the whole summer long. The Township of Florence is always supportive of the Roebling Garden Club’s effort and we appreciate all the help they give us. Geraniums were donated in loving memory of Betty and Louis Opre, Schouck Family, the Mate Family ND Janice Glassman. Also John Brady, the Mate Famly and Brady Family were lovingly remembered. More names will appear in future articles. Thanks to all who donated.
