Donald M. Grom

Mr. Grom, 80, of Freehold Township, died June 9, 2009, at home. Born in Jersey City, he moved to Freehold Township 25 years ago. A veteran of the U.S. Army during World War II, Grom was a security supervisor at Christ Hospital in Jersey City for more than 20 years before retiring in 1991. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Adelaida; his nine children and their spouses, Donald, Robert and Noreen, Frank, Thomas and Caroline, David, Deborah and John, Mark and Julie, Matthew and Lynzee, and Jonathan; two sisters, Dorothy and Evelyn; 10 grandchildren; and two great-granddaughters. A funeral service was held at the First Baptist Church, Freehold, followed by interment at Maplewood Cemetery in Freehold Township. Arrangements were by Freeman Funeral Home, Manalapan.
