A Get on Track With Zach Buckaroo Barbecue to benefit Zachary Nemeth, a 2- year-old Helmetta youngster who was born with multiple disabilities, cannot swallow and is developmentally delayed, is set for noon-7 p.m. July 19 (rain or shine) on the grounds at the East Brunswick Elks Lodge, 21B Oakmont Ave. Line-dance lessons will be offered noon-1 p.m.
Zach, who suffers from muscular weakness, has had a tracheotomy and relies on a feeding tube, requires constant medical care and around-the-clock care from nurses and his mother, Barbara. He needs occupational, physical and swallow therapies and will require more surgery in the future. Despite the aid of family and friends, the Nemeth family is financially burdened with countless medical and living expenses.
The country-western event will feature barbecued food, desserts, soda, coffee/tea and live entertainment. A DJ will provide music for dancing.
Tickets are limited; purchase by July 8 is recommended.
Cost is $30 per person for adults, $15 for children 3-6 years old; youngsters ages 2 and under will be admitted free of charge. Guests should bring their own lawn chairs.
