District offering enrichment programs

Registration is now going on for two summer enrichment programs being offered through the East Brunswick Public Schools Community Programs Department.

“Explorers: 2022 … A Kindergarten Readiness Program” is set for 9-11:30 a.m., July 27-Aug. 7, at Lawrence Brook School, 48 Sullivan Way. The two-week prekindergartenreadiness class, which is open to students entering kindergarten in September, is designed to introduce and/or reinforce basic readiness skills for kindergarten. Focus will be on increasing self-confidence, encouraging active participation in a group setting, fine motor skills, language development, book handling, exposure to literature and self-help skills.

“Summer Fun,” for students who have completed kindergarten-fifth grade, is planned for 9 a.m.-noon or 1 p.m., Aug. 17-28, at HammarskjoldMiddle School, 200 Rues Lane. All camp activities are designed to provide opportunities for children to participate, build new skills, form friendships and gain self-confidence.
