Youth Empowerment Services is launching a mentoring program for children of incarcerated parents in New Brunswick and the Middlesex County area. Volunteers will engage in a one-on-one mentoring relationship with a child, age 5-18, for a commitment of one year. Children who have one or both parents
in prison are more likely to follow their parents into the criminal-justice system. Mentoring aims to promote healthy behavior among youth and to break the cycle of incarceration.
