Mrs. LaPenta, 86, of Jackson, died recently at The Orchards in Jackson. She had resided in Colts Neck for more than 40 years before moving to Jackson six years ago. Mrs. LaPenta was a comptroller for Delicious Orchards, Colts Neck, for 25 years, retiring in 1988. She was predeceased by her husband, the Rev. Samuel C. LaPenta, in 2005; and a son, Samuel, in 1984. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, David LaPenta and Cherie Haines of Rock Hall, Md.; two daughters and sons-in law, Jean LaPenta and Peter Walzer of Jackson, and Beth and Bruce Cavanaugh of Orange, Conn.; and six grandchildren. A funeral service was held at Colts Neck Reformed Church, followed by interment at Atlantic Cemetery, Colts Neck. Memorial donations may be made to AIDS Foundation, 75 Ninth Avenue, New York, NY 10011. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Freeman Funeral Home, Freehold.
