Mr. Donovan, 81, a resident of Manalapan for 47 years, died June 26, 2009, at CentraState Medical Center in Freehold Township. A veteran of the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean War, he was a former member of the Gordons Corner Fire Company in Manalapan from 1963 through 1997. Mr. Donovan was a foreman for Brookway Glass Co. for many years and then a bus driver for the Freehold Regional Bus Co., both of Freehold. He was predeceased by his two wives, Joan and Josaphine. Surviving are a daughter, Jeanne “Jo Jo” Raffa of Manalapan; and three grandchildren. Nicholas, David and Gary. A funeral service was held at the Freeman Funeral Home, Manalapan, on Monday, June 29th, 2009, with interment at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Arnytown.
