Every Body Deserves a Massage Week, July 19-25, is sponsored by Associated Bodywork and Massage Professionals (ABMP), the nation’s largest massage membership association. As an ABMP member and a volunteer for the American Cancer Society, Sorina Durante of Energy Balance Laser Therapy and Massage joins this public service designed to raise funds for nonprofit organizations and promote the benefits of massage therapy.

During this event Energy Balance Laser Therapy and Massage, 55 Schanck Road, Suite A-20, Pinho Professional Center, Freehold Township, offers free chair massages on Monday and Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., and Thursday and Friday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. to raise donations or membership to benefit the Cancer Action Network, the nonprofit American Cancer Society’s sister advocacy organization supporting access to healthcare for cancer patients.

The Goddard School of Morganville, 50 Route 520, will host an open house ice cream social on Aug. 6 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. The open house will feature many activities, including face painting and a clown. All are welcome to attend. Details: 732-617-8181.

Brian C. Huff, a native of Marlboro, has been promoted to relationship manager by TD Bank, America’s Most Convenient Bank, in Piscataway. Huff will continue to provide lending solutions for TD Bank’s middle-market commercial lending clients throughout the central New Jersey.

Huff joined TD Bank in 2004 and has five years of lending experience. He started at the bank as an intern during college, then attended the formal credit training program which allowed him to become a credit analyst. Huff was then promoted to a loan representative at the bank. Huff is involved with the Risk Management Association, New Jersey Society of CPAs, and Garden State Credit Associates.

Huff, a resident of Clark, is a member of the Morganville United Methodist Church. He is a 2005 graduate of Rutgers University and the Rutgers Business School in New Brunswick, and a 2001 graduate of Marlboro High School.

Wegmans Food Markets in Manalapan recently celebrated with student employees who earned their position on the company’s annual college scholarship recipient list. Since the Wegmans Employee Scholarship Program began 26 years ago, more than 22,000 Wegmans employees have been awarded scholarships totaling more than $71 million.

Part-time employees will receive up to $1,500 a year for four years, while full-time employees receive up to $2,200. To be eligible for the award, each student kept a high academic average, worked a minimum number of hours and maintained a good employment record.

Students involved include Emma Schwartz, Gregory Becker, Alyssa Marotta, David Epstein, Matthew Kirson, Stephanie Devitto, Jordan Preiss, Michael Brenna, Kyle Schneider, Stewart Knee, Cody Jankowski, Eli Kramer and Alex Kramer.

Travel Connections, Manalapan, was the recipient of an Outstanding Cruise Sales award for the third year in a row from Uniglobe Travel in Irvine, Calif. The award was presented to partners Jan Davis and Sue Betlesky at Uniglobe’s annual conference held in June at the Encore Hotel in Las Vegas.
