SOUTH BRUNSWICK: Council approves COAH agent fees

by Reem Nasr, Staff Writer
The South Brunswick Township Council decided to implement COAH administrative agent fees in Tuesday night’s meeting.
The fees would cover a portion of the costs related to the administration of the COAH units. Owners, developers, or landlords would be required to pay a minimal administrative fee to South Brunswick for services rendered to bring buyers or renters.
The fee is not required by COAH, but other towns are implementing it.
Money from the fees would not go to the township’s general revenue, but to the Affordable Housing Trust fund. The fees would help replenish the fund.
A waiver for the fee would be reviewed on a case to case basis.
