William G. Brigiani of South Brunswick has been reappointed as a trustee of the New Jersey State Bar Foundation, an organization dedicated to promoting law-related education and giving all New Jersey residents a basic understanding of the legal system.
Currently a partner with the East Brunswick law firm of Brigiani, Cohen & Schneider, Mr. Brigiani has served as president of the Middlesex County Bar Association and Foundation and as the television host for Middlesex County’s Law on the Line series. Within the New Jersey State Bar Foundation, Mr. Brigiani has been active in its mock trial programs, serving as a judge in the Law Fair, Law Adventure and high school competitions. He is also a member of the Foundation’s Program Development Committee and Court Night Sub-Committee.
Mr. Brigiani conducts a mentor program for new lawyers and frequently lectures on the topics of drunk driving and municipal court for the New Jersey Institute for Continuing Legal Education, known as ICLE. He has received numerous awards including the Lawyer of the Year Award and the David Pavlovski Service Award from the Middlesex County Bar Association, the New Jersey Police Benevolent Association Silver Life Membership Award, the Police Honor Legion Citizen of the Month, the Legal Services of New Jersey Equal Justice Medal and the Women Aware Dedicated Service to Victims of Domestic Violence Award.
A graduate of Dartmouth College, Mr. Brigiani completed two years of active duty and 10 years in the reserves with the U.S. Navy, attaining the rank of lieutenant commander. He received his law degree from Rutgers Law School-Newark in 1964.
