• Freehold Township’s third annual National Night Out for residents, a crime and drug prevention event sponsored by Freehold Raceway Mall, will be held from 6-9 p.m. Aug. 4 at the Freehold Township municipal parking lot, corner of Schanck and Stillwells Corner roads, Freehold Township. The event will feature music, free ice cream, free rides for children, a balloon artist, face painting, free horse and pony rides, fire department safety demonstrations, police certified safety seat check, CentraState Medical Center’s Wellness Screening Van, McGruff and more. All proceeds will go to the Special Olympics. In addition, a blood drive will be held that day from 4:30-9:30 p.m. in the same parking lot, next to the firehouse.
• The Freehold Borough Police Department is sponsoring National Night Out, an evening of fun and education for the whole family, from 6-9 p.m. Aug. 4 at the Monmouth County Hall of Records parking lot on Main Street in Downtown Freehold. There will be inflatable rides, pony rides and face painting, as well as fire trucks, an ambulance and a police car to examine.
