NEW MUSIC PROGRAM FOR INFANTS AT HAR SINAI
HOPEWELL TOWNSHIP – Har Sinai Temple is expanding its educational programs to include a 10-session "I’ve Got Rhythm" class for children ages six-to-14 months.
Beginning Sept. 23 and running Wednesdays through Dec. 2, the sessions will be led by the Temple’s music director, Susan Sacks, from 9:15-10 a.m. (The class will not meet Nov. 25.) A parent or designated adult must accompany the child as it participates in music and free playtime.
"This is a unique program designed for tots that allows them to explore the play space with age-appropriate materials and equipment,” according to Magda Reyes, director of education at Har Sinai. "Then they will participate in musical activities, including an introduction to rhythmic sound.”
The new program will precede "Toddler Time Together,” an 11-session class led by Sacks for children ages 15-to-24 months accompanied by a parent. It will run Thursdays from 10:30-11:30 a.m. beginning Sept. 24 and ending Dec. 17.
Preschool classes for older children begin Sept. 14 and run through June 11. Three-year-olds have classes on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays; 4-year-olds attend class Monday-through-Friday. All classes run from 9 a.m. to noon, although children who bring lunch can stay until 1 p.m. Those attending an enrichment class stay until 3 p.m.
All programs are open to the entire community, regardless of religious affiliation.
Har Sinai will hold a "Meet ‘n’ Greet” picnic lunch for parents and preschool kids at the Temple on Sept. 13 from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m.
