Princeton Borough
   Peter A. Meyers, 54, of Berkshire, Mass., was arrested after a records search revealed a $170 warrant out of West Windsor Township during a traffic stop on Vandeventer Avenue at 7:15 p.m. Aug. 21, police said. Mr. Meyers was initially stopped for not wearing a seatbelt, police said.
   Brooke A. Johnson, 40, of Yardley, Pa., was arrested after a records search revealed $321 in warrants out of Princeton Borough and Raritan Township during a traffic stop on Stockton Street at 12:10 p.m. Aug. 22, according to a police report. Ms. Johnson was initially stopped for driving an unregistered vehicle, police said.
   Alston E. Young, 53, of New Brunswick, was charged with driving while intoxicated following a traffic stop on Nassau Street at 11:30 p.m. Aug. 22, police said. Mr. Young was initially stopped for running a red light, according to police.
   Hung T. Nugyen, 55, of Farrand Avenue, was arrested after he attempted to push a police officer while yelling obscenities on Witherspoon Street at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 23, according to police, who said they approached Mr. Nguyen after they observed him urinating in public.
   Later Mr. Nugyen, who was highly intoxicated, attempted to resist arrest by pinning his hands under his body while he was being handcuffed, police said. Mr. Nugyen was charged with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and urinating in public, and taken to the University Medical Center at Princeton for alcohol treatment.
   Sandra Page, 41, of Lawrence Township, was arrested after a records search revealed a $5,165 warrant out of Lawrence Township during a traffic stop on Monument Drive at 9:15 a.m. Aug. 24, police said.
Princeton Township
   Christopher J. Murphy, 27, of Trenton, was arrested after a records search revealed a warrant out of Bordentown during a traffic stop on Alexander Road at 3 p.m. Aug. 18, police said.
   Derrek L. Vernon, 31, of Ewing Township, was arrested after police noticed that he was driving a Lexus with false license plates on South Harrison Street at 7:40 p.m. Aug. 25, police said. Police also charged Mr. Vernon with driving without a license, driving without insurance and driving an unregistered vehicle, as well as possessing fictitious plates. Mr. Vernon also had two warrants worth $3,500 out of Trenton.
West Windsor
   Anna Migliarese, 20, of Hamilton Township, and Stacy Ziolkowski, 20, of Trenton, were charged with shoplifting Thursday afternoon from Wal-Mart in Nassau Park. They are accused of concealing a total of $156.18 worth of merchandise in their handbags and attempting to leave the store, police said. They were placed under arrest and processed at police headquarters.
   A burglary was reported at LE Camera on Nassau Park Boulevard that occurred shortly after midnight Saturday. Force was used to gain entry to the front entrance of the store, and an unknown amount of merchandise was stolen, police said. The case is under investigation.
   A resident of Edison reported a case of theft and credit card theft that occurred Saturday afternoon at Princeton MarketFair. The victim realized her wallet had been stolen while she was shopping at the mall, police said. One of the victim’s credit cards was later used at the Target store in Nassau Park, police said.
   Satyam Reddy, 48, of West Windsor, was charged with DWI after a traffic stop Friday at the Wallace Circle. An officer pulled over Mr. Reddy, who was driving a 2006 Honda Accord, for not wearing a seatbelt and failure to maintain a lane of travel, police said. During the stop, the officer detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from inside the vehicle, police said. The officer then ran Mr. Reddy through a series of field sobriety tests and determined the accused was intoxicated, police said. He was arrested and transported to police headquarters, where he was charged with failure to maintain a lane of travel, failure to wear a seatbelt, reckless driving and DWI. He was released with a court date.
   Jonathan Tarnecki, 20, of Plainsboro, was charged with DWI after a traffic stop last Tuesday evening on South Mill Road and Woodmere Way. He was also issued summonses for underage DWI, speeding and reckless driving, police said.
   Chia-Wie Chauan, 41, of Monroe, was charged with shoplifting Wednesday afternoon from McCaffrey’s Market on Princeton-Hightstown Road. At about 12:30 p.m., she concealed $42 worth of cocktail franks and sushi in her purse and attempted to leave the store without paying, police said.
   Celeste Hernandez, 21, of Trenton, was charged with possession of marijuana under 50 grams following an investigation of a suspicious person last Tuesday at the Mercer County Park marina. She was arrested at about 8 p.m., processed at police headquarters and released with a summons, she said.
   Zenon Espinoza, 34, of New Brunswick, was charged with DWI after a traffic stop Aug. 23 on Alexander Road at University Way. At about 8 p.m., he was pulled over after a police officer observed a passenger in the vehicle not wearing a seatbelt, police said. During the stop, the officer detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on Mr. Espinoza’s breath, police said. The officer ran Mr. Espinoza through a series of sobriety tests, which he failed, police said. He was arrested and issued additional summonses for reckless driving, unlicensed driver, failure to wear a seatbelt, unrestrained child under 8 years of age and driving while intoxicated with minors as passengers.
Montgomery
   A Princeton woman was issued a summons for careless driving after police responded to County Route 518 at the intersection of Hollow Road for a one-car crash Thursday. At about 8 a.m., Cherylann Brown, 54, of Princeton, was driving a 2009 Honda CRV eastbound when she swerved to avoid a vehicle that was stopped on Route 518 waiting to turn onto Hollow Road. Ms. Brown’s vehicle left the road and struck a tree, causing the vehicle to flip onto its left side, police said. Police assisted Ms. Brown from the vehicle. She declined medical attention at the scene and did not report any injuries, police said. She is scheduled to appear in municipal court.
   A Hillsborough woman was issued a summons for failure to keep right after police responded to County Route 533 south of Grist Mill Road Aug. 24 for a two-car crash with multiple injuries. Patricia Nicholas, 62, of Hillsborough, was driving a 2002 Chevrolet Impala southbound when her vehicle crossed over the northbound lane and left the roadway, police said. Her vehicle hit a guard rail off the northbound lane and continued traveling south, where it sideswiped a 2002 Chevrolet Suburban driven by Connie Warner, 50, of Skillman, which was traveling northbound, police said. Ms. Nicholas’ vehicle continued south and struck the guard rail two more times before hitting a stone retaining wall at the driveway of 431 River Road, police said. Ms. Nicholas was transported to Robert Wood Johnson Hospital by Montgomery Township EMS, along with a rear seat passenger in her vehicle, Lilian Nicholas, 27, of Delanco, with non life-threatening injuries, police said. A juvenile passenger in the other vehicle complained of ear pain at the scene, but refused medical attention. Ms. Nicholas is scheduled to appear in municipal court.
   Ashley Sprague, 21, of Belle Mead, was issued a motor vehicle summons for careless driving after police responded to a one-car crash on Township Line Road in front of the Mattawang Golf Club on Aug. 19. She was driving a 1997 Honda Civic westbound when she attempted to remove an insect from her vehicle and lost control of her car, police said. Ms. Sprague’s vehicle left the roadway and entered a ditch on the north side of the road. She did not report any injuries and her vehicle had to be towed from the scene because of the damage, police said. Ms. Sprague is scheduled to appear in municipal court.
   Cherry Valley Road was closed for about 20 minutes after a box truck overturned on Aug. 21. Jonathan Pimentel-Paniagua, 25, of Camden, was driving a 2008 Freightliner eastbound when his vehicle left the lane and went into a ditch, police said. He suffered a deep laceration to his right arm and was transported to Princeton Medical Center by Montgomery Township EMS, police said. Mr. Pimentel-Paniagua was transporting wine, which was damaged as a result of the crash, police said.
   Police responded to a two-car crash Aug. 21 on Route 206 at Dunn Way. Collin Smith, 18, of Skillman was driving a 2004 Mazda northbound on Route 206 when he struck the rear of a 1994 Honda driven by Ravi Wadhwani, 45, of Palos Verdes Estates, Calif., police said. Mr. Wadhwani complained of back pain but refused medical attention, police said. Mr. Smith was issued a motor vehicle summons for careless driving and is scheduled to appear in municipal court, police said. During the crash investigation, Mr. Wadhwani was found to have an active traffic warrant out of Newark for $300 for a failure to inspect summons, police said. He was able to post the full bail for the warrant and was released without a summons, police said.
Plainsboro
   Ashley Hilgar, 23, of Pheasant Hollow Drive, was charged with endangering the welfare of a child and obstruction of a police investigation after police responded to a report of an unattended juvenile on Friday evening. Upon arrival at the scene, police determined that a 5-year-old girl had been left home unattended, and that Ms. Hilgar was responsible for her, police said. Ms. Hilgar was arrested and transported to the Middlesex County Adult Correctional Center in default of $2,500 bail.
   Humphrey Ochia, 50, of Somerset, was charged with piracy after a traffic stop Thursday night on southbound Route 1. Police stopped his vehicle for making an unsafe lane change, and an investigation revealed that he was transporting over 600 bootlegged DVDs, police said. He was arrested and charged, while the vehicle and DVDs were seized as evidence, police said. He was also charged with driving on an expired license and unsafe lane change. The investigation is ongoing.
   A Tennyson Drive resident reported the theft of a plant arbor from the front exterior of the victim’s residence. According to the victim, the arbor, valued at $30, was removed sometime on Thursday, police said. The victim was not at home at the time of the incident. The case is under investigation.
   Julissa Sandoval, 26, of Bronx, N.Y., was charged with DWI after a traffic stop Thursday on northbound Route 1. At about 2:30 a.m., Ms. Sandoval was pulled over after she was observed making an improper pass near College Road, police said. During the stop, the officer detected a strong smell of an alcoholic beverage, police said. Field sobriety tests revealed that she was driving while intoxicated, police said. She was arrested and faces additional charges of improper passing and reckless driving.
   A resident of New Brunswick reported an incident of theft and criminal mischief that occurred sometime between Tuesday and Wednesday of last week. The victim’s vehicle window was smashed and his cell phone, cell phone case and charger were stolen from the vehicle while it was parked on Fox Run Drive, police said. The approximate value of the items is $460 and damage to the car window was estimated at $270. The case has been turned over to the detective bureau.
   A resident of Monroe Township reported an incident of theft and criminal mischief that occurred last week. Between 10 p.m. Aug. 23 and 10 a.m. Aug. 24, the driver’s side window of the victim’s blue 2001 Plymouth was shattered while it was parked at Lot 47 on Fox Run Drive, she reported to police. Several items, valued at $205, were also missing from the victim’s vehicle. The case is under investigation.
   Police responded to the Pavilion Skilled Nursing Facility, located at 5000 Windrow Drive, last week after a patient attempted to light his shirt on fire by holding it over a light fixture in the bathroom of his hospital room, police said. The shirt started to smolder and set off the alarm, which alerted staff at about noon on Aug. 24, police said. Staff arrived and threw the smoldering shirt into the toilet, police said. No injuries were reported. The wall was slightly singed in the incident, police said. The patient remained in the care of the facility’s staff for further observation and treatment, police said.
   A resident of Ravens Crest Drive reported a bicycle stolen last week from in front of the Superfresh Food Market. The bicycle went missing between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Aug. 24, police said. The bicycle was a red and silver mountain bike, valued at about $300. The case is under investigation.
   A resident of Douglasville, Pa., reported that an unknown man exposed his private parts and urinated in the presence of the victim at Mill Pond Park last week. The incident occurred at about 8:45 a.m. Aug. 24, police said. The perpetrator is described as a white male, approximately 40 years of age, 6-feet tall, heavy set, with a reddish beard.
   The Pavilion Skilled Nursing Facility reported the theft of two Xanax pills, valued at $50, at about 2:30 p.m. Aug. 20. The case is under investigation.
   A warrant has been issued for Andrew Ratliff, 24, of Hightstown, for falsely incriminating another, obstruction of justice and hindering apprehension in connection with a traffic stop July 31 on Dey Road. During the stop, Mr. Ratliff gave false information to an officer, and a later investigation revealed the valid identification of the driver, police said.
   A resident of Plainsboro reported several unauthorized charges on her checking account Visa ATM card, totaling $417.59. The false charges occurred on July 20, police said.
   A resident of Thoreau Drive reported a burglary and theft that occurred between July 15 and Aug. 24. The victim reported that $3,000 and $3,000 worth of assorted female jewelry was missing from the residence, police said. No signs of forced entry were discovered, police said. The case has been turned over to the detective bureau.
   A resident of Hampshire Drive reported a theft that occurred between October 2008 and December 2008. During that period, the victim reported, nearly $500 worth of jewelry was stolen from the victim’s residence. The case has been turned over to the detective bureau.
