MONTGOMERY — The salaries of most township employees will remain the same under the salary and wage ordinance introduced by the Township Committee at its meeting Thursday night.
The ordinance will go before the committee for final adoption following a public hearing scheduled for Sept. 17.
Officials announced plans earlier this year to implement a salary freeze for all non-union employees, with the exception of the Kid Connection director and teachers.
The mayor receives $5,562 for her work, while her fellow committee members each receive $4,169 annually, according to the ordinance.
The salaries of the township prosecutor, municipal judge and public defender were limited to $37,200, $26,900 and $3,059, according to the ordinance.
The ordinance establishes salary ranges for all other positions. The amount of those ranges has not increased, although employees can move within those ranges depending on changes in their qualifications, education or performance, Township Attorney Kristina Hadinger said.
At the top of the township’s wage earners this year are the police captain, who earns $136,022, and the township administrator, who earns $135,356.
Other six-figure salaries in the township include the acting chief financial officer, township engineer and superintendent of public works, who earn $115,095, $107,846 and $106,348.
The planning director earns $99,993, the construction code official earns $98,150, and the recreation director earns $90,840. The township’s CAD/GIS[ahu: what’s this?: ] director earns $91,221.
