Jesse Havens of Montgomery
Van Harlingen Historical Society and all who turned out to celebrate the old Harlingen School’s 90th birthday are most grateful to the Gazior family for opening their doors and making us welcome. It was Montgomery’s good fortune when they chose to locate here.
All too often new uses for old buildings result in alterations that destroy their character even though the structure is preserved, out Harlingen School has been spared that fate.
The Gaziors have not only retained the facade, they have preserved the fabric of the old building so cleverly that in spite of elegant furniture replacing rows of school desks, the old place, looked wonderfully familiar to scores of former students.
