Patricia A. Komsa, Brick, was recently named the executive director and UEZ coordinator of the Lakewood Development Corp. (LDC) and the UEZ program by the board of trustees of the Lakewood Development Corp.

In her new position, Komsa will represent Lakewood on the local, state and federal levels. Her areas of responsibility include, among others, the general supervision of the business and daily operations of the LDC; the preparation and presentation of UEZ projects and plans, and coordination with the director of economic development to work with prospects who might want to sell or lease commercial or industrial real estate that would foster economic growth and job opportunities for Lakewood.

Before being appointed executive director, Komsa served as the urban initiatives coordinator for LDC from 1999 to 2007. She was later promoted to deputy coordinator for program management in the Lakewood UEZ program. Among other duties, she managed such projects as Job Link, UEZ police officers, Franklin Street redevelopment, downtown parking development, and participated in the construction of the Lakewood baseball stadium.

Komsa also developed and coordinated seminars and meetings for business development, and administered UEZ certification and recertification programs.

Komsa, a graduate of Lakewood High School class of ’92, received both her Bachelor of Science degree in business administration in 1995 and a Master of Arts degree in business administration in 2005, both from Georgian Court University, Lakewood. She was graduated with honors from the master’s program and was inducted into the Delta Mu Delta National Honor Society.

Komsa has served on the board of directors of the Lakewood Chamber of Commerce, and the Industrial Committee of the chamber since 2007. She has also been a member of the One-Stop Career Center Committee of the Ocean County Workforce Investment Board since 2002.

The Brick Chamber of Commerce will hold a SMILE networking lunch for its members Oct. 16 at noon at LaStrada Ristorante, Route 88, Brick.

Those attending will have an opportunity to make business contacts with fellow members. The goal of the lunch is to have members utilize and/or refer fellow Chamber of Commerce members when needing goods and services.
