The Sergeantsville General Store was voted the most popular mid-ride rest stop by the 700+ members of the Princeton Freewheelers (PFW), a bicycle touring club, dedicated to promoting recreational bicycling. Located in the beautiful hills of Hunterdon, the General Store is ideally situated for much needed food and rest for the many cyclists that make this store its mid-ride stop.
Cylists from the PFW and other bike clubs frequent the Sergeantsville General Store for many reasons. However, the most common reason for stopping at this particular place is the hospitality of its owners, Yuamcun Sun and his wife, Lifen Cao. With the "Bikers Welcome" sign hanging over the front door, all cyclists know they will be welcomed with food, drink and Sun’s smile.
After a short rest and some refreshments that range from home-made Chinese cuisine to American sandwiches, the cyclists start the ride back.
This first time award is presented by PFW president, Patricia Van Hise. For more information about PFW, see www.princetonfreewheelers.com.
