Schools need beginning sports

Hello, I am a student at Hillsborough Middle School. Since the 2009-10 school year began, I have been hearing a lot about the upcoming fall, winter and even spring sports. This has got me thinking.
Although I hear everyone saying how psyched they are for the upcoming sports, something has begun to concern me. What do you think is Hillsborough Middle School and Hillsborough High School’s plan for helping more students get involved with a school sport? If there are only a certain amount of sport teams for students to get involved in, then how will they all support their school and play? These are the main questions that concern me.
To continue, if there are thousands of kids between the Hillsborough Middle School and Hillsborough Hill School, then how is there possibly enough spots on every team for so many students who would be interested in participating? To me, this is extremely unfair for numerous reasons. For example, if there are a lot of talented softball players at the middle school, they should be able to participate. I think that Hillsborough Middle School should also maybe have a “B” softball team like some of the other sports such as soccer.
There are numerous of decent athletes that will not be able to support enough positions on that team. I believe everyone who is devoted deserves to be on a school’s sport team.
Also, other sports like soccer, basketball and lacrosse are very popular sports and I believe that they should add another team for each sport. This would mean either an additional “B” or “C” team. Another point I’d like to mention is that I know there are recreational teams in Hillsborough, but what if a student wanted to be involved with a sport that represented the school? If one student is devoted to the particular sport, then would they not be able to participate in the sport at all if they weren’t the best? This is once again not fair.
Lastly, it seems as if a student would have to have started that particular activity at a young age to be successful and make it onto the high school and middle school teams. If you found a new sport that you’ve become interested in, then the schools should be able to let you learn it and make the team.
For example, the HMS basketball teams are not fair. I have heard a lot from players and they all say the same thing. They all say that the coaches usually only choose kids for the team that were on a travel basketball team. Why doesn’t Hillsborough stop worrying about winning and more about having fun? Sports in Hillsborough are not fair.
I hope that you take the time to try and understand my point. Thank you for your time.
