HIGHTSTOWN: Police Beat

   Brian Chew, 27, of Trenton was apprehended Oct. 14 on several warrants
   Police said they arrested Mr. Chew at the Municipal Court on North Main Street at 7:17 p.m. during his appearance there on unrelated charges.
   Mr. Chew had a $491 Mercer County warrant and two warrants from Beverly for $152 and $124, respectively, police said.
   He was released after satisfying the warrants, according to police

   A resident of Westerlea Arms Apartments reported an apartment burglarized at 3:08 p.m. Oct. 14.
   Police said the victim reported a laptop computer, camera, GPS system and various pieces of jewelry missing.
   The total value of the items missing was estimated at $9,000, according to police.

   Freddy Simbana, 27, of East Windsor, was charged Sunday with disorderly conduct.
   Police said they found him at 3:02 a.m. in a highly intoxicated state and passed out in front of the Krauszer’s store on Franklin Street.

   Vijayakum Lingappa, 38, of Woodbridge, was charged Sunday with driving while intoxicated.
   Police said they stopped his car at 10:27 p.m. on Franklin Street when they saw it traveling 42 mph in a 25-mph speed zone.
   Mr. Lingappa also was charged with driving while intoxicated with minors in the vehicle, driving while intoxicated in a school zone, reckless driving and speeding.
