PRINCETON — Police are looking for leads in connection with an incident Monday afternoon in which an 11-year-old boy reported that a beige van stopped next to him and asked him if he wanted candy.
At about 5:30 p.m., the boy was walking on Shady Brook Lane when the van stopped in the street and a male voice spoke to him, according to Princeton Township police. The boy ran home and reported the incident to his mother, who contacted the authorities, police said.
The boy last saw the van turn left onto Route 27, police said. Patrols responded and searched the area. Surrounding police departments were also alerted, but the van was not located.
The vehicle is described as a beige window van with tinted rear windows. The vehilce was driven by a male, unknown race, wearing a white shirt with stripes.
