Tom Molnar, West Amwell
This letter is in response to Mayor Bill Corboy’s letter on Oct 15 and Deputy Mayor Frank Masterson’s letter on Oct 22.
Gentlemen, you keep saying that I have no plan to resolve the Fulper lawsuit. I have had a plan all along and you know it.
That plan was and is to sit down with the Fulpers and see if we could resolve this issue out of court.
All I keep hearing from you is that it will cost the township too much money and will hurt our existing ordinances. But you have not given any type of negotiations a chance.
Until we meet with the Fulpers anything that you say is pure speculation.
You also indicated that no other solutions have been offered.
This also is incorrect. A detailed solution was offered by a resident and you decided to discard that proposal.
Both of you believe the only way out of this is to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars. Meanwhile services diminish and taxes escalate.
In conclusion, there will be no winners in this case, except for the lawyers.
The sum of $617,000 already has been spent, and the judge may rule on a compromise, which is something we could have done in-house many months ago.
