Mr. Peterson, 90, of Freehold and formerly of Colonia, died Oct. 15, 2009, at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. A veteran of World War II, Mr. Peterson was a carpenter and builder, starting a business with his brothers. He was recently honored for his years of service by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 4374 of Freehold, where he was a former post commander. Mr. Peterson was predeceased by his brothers, Robert and Peter. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Anne Karwoski; seven children, Patricia Orbeton of Peterborough, N.H., Conrad Peterson of Toms River, James Peterson of Port Monmouth, Donald Peterson of Salisbury, N.C., Janet Maraffa of Freehold, Mary Pesciotta of Perrineville, and Christopher Peterson of Evans, Ga.; a sister, Marion Bibeau of Virginia Beach, Va.; 20 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. The funeral liturgy was celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Chapel, Freehold, followed by interment at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Arnytown, Burlington County. The Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold, was in charge of arrangements.
