November programs at Red Bank Library

The Red Bank Public Library’s Acoustic Saturdays series continues 2-4 p.m. Nov. 28 with guitarist and singer Vinny Kyne in the Eisner New Jersey Room at the library. The program is free and registration is not required.

The library presents an acoustic music series featuring New Jersey musicians and singer-songwriters on the last Saturday of the month from September to November and January to May. The music programs are produced

and hosted by guitarist Anton Daub.

Knowing how to perform CPR on a person stricken with cardiac arrest can double that person’s chance of survival, according to the American Heart Association. Douglas L. Haviland, of Meridian Life Support Training, will repeat his free Family and Friends CPR training class, courtesy of Meridian Health at the library 7-9 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 4. An emergency training professional known for his many years of work with Red Bank’s volunteer emergency services, Haviland will demonstrate the life-saving CPR skills needed for helping infants, children and adults. Registration is required for this popular program by calling the library at 732-842-0690.

Volunteer tutors offer one-on-one computer instruction for adults at the library from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Mondays and from 1-4 p.m. on Fridays. People with all levels of computer

experience are welcome. Instruction is by appointment only. Please call the library at to register.

The Red Bank Senior Center in cooperation with the Red Bank Public Library hosts a book discussion group on the last Monday of each month at the Senior Center at 1 p.m. Call the center at 732-747-5204 for more information.

The library hosts an adult book discussion group, “Reading on the River,” on the last Wednesday of each month from 7 to 8 p.m. For more information and to register, contact the library at 732-842-0690.

The Red Bank Photography Club meets the first Monday of each month at the library from 7-8:45 p.m. An exhibit of photographs by club members will be on display at the library during the months of November and December. The library will again support the Food for Fines program during the months of November and December. The program encourages library users to bring nonperishable food items for the hungry in exchange for fines on overdue materials.
