HILLSBOROUGH: Police blotter

   A Newton resident reported someone tried to break into his vehicle and damaged the driver’s side door lock while it was parked in front of a house on Decamp Drive sometime between 6:30 p.m. Nov. 16 and 11 a.m. Nov. 17.
   According to police, the lock cylinder was inoperative, and there was damage to the handle assembly.
   The cost to repair the damage was estimated to total $200.
   The owner of Taste of Crete on Route 206 reported someone stole items from the patio in the rear of her business sometime between 4 p.m. Nov. 19 and 1 p.m. Nov. 21.
   Police said someone stole three office chairs valued at $350; five plastic chairs valued at $30; one plastic table valued at $8; and two umbrellas valued at $40.
   The owner of Wild Heart Landscape Supplies reported someone stole items from his yard sometime between Oct. 18 and 10:14 a.m. Nov. 18.
   Police said someone stole a table saw valued at $3,000; two handheld circular saws valued at $3,000; two rubber sledge hammers valued at $140; and a backpack blower valued at $560.
