Mr. Gravatt, 71, of the Cream Ridge section of Upper Freehold, died Nov. 29, 2009, at the Vitas Hospice program at Kennedy Hospital in Stratford. Mr. Gravatt served in the U.S. Air Force. He was a safety supervisor with Monmouth County for 33 years prior to retiring. He was a past president of the Howell Lions Club, a director of the Old Yellow Meetinghouse in Cream Ridge and a founding member of the Howell Historical Society. Surviving are his wife of 48 years, Nadine H. Gravatt; sons, Raymond C. Gravatt Jr. of Tuckerton, and Brett Stewart Gravatt of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; sisters, Joan Saker and Shirley Kays, both of Freehold; Carol Leshko of Orlando, Fla., and Sharon Pinto of West Palm Beach, Fla.; and five grandchildren. A funeral ceremony was held at Yellow Meetinghouse Cemetery, Cream Ridge. George S. Hassler Funeral Home, Jackson, handled the arrangements.
