Meredith Berkowitz, daughter of Cathy and Michael Berkowitz of Marlboro, was named to the dean’s list for the spring semester at Rider University, Lawrenceville. She is a 2006 graduate of Marlboro High School.
Michael Bono, a jazz guitarist from Howell, has been awarded the Gary Burton Presidential Scholarship at Berklee College of Music, Boston. Berklee awards this grant to the best young musicians in the country, offering them each a four-year education at no cost to them or their families. At Howell High School, Bono was the drum major for the Marching Rebels and earned several soloist awards while performing with the Jazz Band, including the Louis Armstrong Jazz Award and the National Choral Award. There are currently 24 Presidential Scholars studying at Berklee.
Barbara Schechter, the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Steven M. Schechter of Manalapan, was inducted on Nov. 2 into the Omicron Delta Kappa National Leadership Honor Society at Muhlenberg College, Allentown, Pa., where she is a biology major. She is a member of the class of 2010 and a graduate of Manalapan High School.
